Job Description

The Denver Post is seeking an on-call platemaker to join the team! This person will cover any team member who is out unexpectedly or on vacation.

What you will do:

• Process plates to be sent through to the press

• Work within company safety guidelines

• Establish priorities and sequence of products to meet deadlines on a shift basis

• Learn to run the imaging software and production equipment

• Make sure jobs are set up correctly using the correct templates

• Analyze and/or assist to resolve quality and workflow issues

• Check to see that all imaging equipment, the printer, and the plate bender are functioning properly

What you will bring:

• Ability to manage the electronic flow of pages for job printing and to work with FTP sites

• Experience working with pagination workflow software

• Familiarity with Microsoft Office, including Excel, and other computer-related software programs to download, prep, and process files for plate production

• High school diploma or equivalent required

• CNC or CTP experience preferred

Benefits and Compensation:

The hourly wage is $26.19 Pay is based on several factors including but not limited to geographic location, education, work experience, time in role, certifications, etc. In addition to your salary, the Company offers eligible employees a variety of benefits including medical, dental, life and disability insurance, 401k, as well as paid time off and select paid holidays (all benefits are based on eligibility).
