Job Description

WSP is currently initiating a search for 30 On-call, Part-Time Field Archaeologists based our of our Kansas City, MO, office and open to any location in the Midwest. This role is for a long-term Phase III archaeological data recovery project at four multi-component Pre-Contact archaeological sites in northwest Arkansas. The sites are located in close proximity to each other and contain components dating from the Late Archaic through the Late Pre-Contact periods. It is probable that the sites contain the remains of the early use of plants of the Eastern Agricultural Complex, and experience on Pre-Contact sites, and with the identification and excavation of Pre-Contact features, is particularly desirable.

Fieldwork is currently ongoing and will run through mid to late 2027. There will be breaks in field sessions due to weather and other factors. But due to a large backlog of additional projects, WSP can offer additional projects / employment on an on-call basis during breaks in the Phase III work, and potentially beyond the completion of the project.

Candidates local to Arkansas, Missouri, eastern Oklahoma, and eastern Kansas are ideal due to work location and schedule, but all qualified applicants will be considered.
