Job Overview

PEMCCO is seeking dependable and detail-oriented On-Call Electrical Construction Inspectors to support transportation and infrastructure construction projects in the Baltimore region.

This role focuses on field observation, contractor oversight, progress monitoring, and documentation. The inspector records what occurred in the field and promptly escalates apparent discrepancies to the designated project manager.

Successful candidates are comfortable working independently in active construction environments, maintaining detailed records, and communicating effectively with project stakeholders.

What You'll Do

  • Prepare detailed daily inspection reports and field documentation
  • Verify work is performed in accordance with project requirements, plans, and specifications

  • Identify non-conforming work and track corrective actions
  • Coordinate with project managers, engineers, contractors, and client representatives
  • Maintain accurate inspection logs, records, and photographic documentation
  • Support quality assurance and quality control efforts throughout construction activities
  • Work safely in active construction and operational environments
  • The inspector will not direct the contractor's means and methods, authorize changes, approve payments, accept completed work, or stop work unless specifically authorized by the client. Immediate hazards must be reported and handled under applicable site-safety procedures.
  • Maintain assigned-shift coverage and provide a clear handoff to the relieving inspector or project manager when contractor work continues across shifts.
