Ameresco is seeking experienced a commercial HVAC Field Technician to join our team with a focus on installations and maintenance of commercial HVAC units on Renewable Energy Sites located throughout New England. This is a fast-paced and rewarding job that is best suited for individuals who are responsible, self-directed, highly motivated, willing to travel, and looking to learn and grow in the Renewable industry.

Responsibilities:

  • Maintaining commercial cooling systems on Battery Energy Storage Systems (BESS) focusing on installations including pipefitting of entire systems and diagnosing, troubleshooting, repairing, and replacing components.

  • Performing fire alarm testing; Ameresco will provide necessary training.

  • Conducting performance checks and regular maintenance.

  • Performing additional maintenance or upgrades to out-of-season equipment.

  • Responding to service calls in a timely manner, including emergency call out services.

  • Timely and accurate completion of daily work reports.

  • Specific duties may vary or evolve over time based on business and client needs.

  • Be available for after-hours and weekend callouts/shifts as needed.

  • Occasional travel outside of New England as needed.

  • Perform all other duties as assigned.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • High school diploma or an equivalent.

  • Minimum of two (2) years of experience with HVAC maintenance in a commercial setting.

Additional Qualifications:

  • Basic knowledge of electronic, mechanical, and electrical components including refrigeration systems. Fire alarm experience is highly desirable.

  • Level 2 or Universal EPA Certificate is required at time of hire.

  • Additional Qualifications:

  • Must be able to communicate effectively both verbally and by email.

  • Must be willing and able to comply with OSHA Standards.

  • Available to travel up to 100%, especially during busy summer months.

  • Driving to remote work sites as needed.

  • Able to work outdoors in inclement weather and ambient temperatures.

  • Physically able to lift and move equipment as needed (up to 50 pounds).

  • Able to comply with FCC/EPA/OSHA Regulations.

  • Must have a valid driver's license in good standing issued by state of residence.

The anticipated hourly range for this role is $37.02-$53.61 per year (presented in good faith). In addition to base pay, employees receive a comprehensive benefits package, such as health insurance, retirement plans, and paid time off, and may be eligible for performance incentives, bonuses, commissions, or equity, depending on the role.

Actual pay will depend on factors such as internal equity, skills, experience, education, certifications, and location. This range supports our commitment to pay transparency and compliance with applicable laws. Compensation may vary by work location, including remote arrangements.
