Springdale Energy is currently hiring an Operations and Maintenance (O&M) Coordinator with Control Room Operations experience for our Springdale, PA facility. This is a management-level exempt salary position.
This position is responsible for operations and maintenance coordination; optimizing the plant resources in the maintenance and operations area by completing procurement activities, planning contract maintenance activities, maintaining the Computerized Maintenance Management System (CMMS).
This position will be dually responsible for supporting the daily planning and scheduling of all maintenance as directed by the Maintenance Manager and supporting the Operations Manager.
This position operates from established procedures, performing duties with general direction and supervision. Decisions are made within prescribed operation procedures and guidelines with input from the Maintenance Manager or other designated Manager. The position encounters new and varied work situations involving a moderate degree of complexity.
This position is designed for an individual seeking to grow into a management role within operations and/or maintenance.
Job Functions
All of these Primary Functions are at the direction of the Maintenance Manager or other designated Manager on-site and following policies and procedures that are in place, including but not limited to the Administrative Manual, the Safety Manual, the Operations Manual, and the Maintenance Manual.
• Serves as the primary Maintenance and Operations point of contact, ensuring alignment across Plant Maintenance, Plant Operations, and Project teams on major maintenance plans, schedules, and budgets; coordinates short- and long-term maintenance and project planning activities; and plays an active role in outage planning, preparation, scheduling, and execution, particularly for Operations and Maintenance departmental responsibilities.
• Must effectively communicate information to the Maintenance Manager, Operations Manager, Plant Manager and subordinate operation and maintenance personnel, relative to the condition of the plant equipment and performance, and provide suggestions for plant improvement.
• Reviews daily corrective work orders and establishes priorities based on Safety, Operational and commercial impact.
• Acts as the intermediate between the support groups and Operations department for the development of maintenance plans and schedules as well as routine CMMS backlog review.
• Work with the Springdale Lead Team to develop 5 and 10-year major maintenance and outage site plan, planning these in CMMS tie all PM’s to these planned Outages to support budgeting.
• Ensure all pre-outage, outage and post outage work is clearly scheduled and included in the outage planning milestones tracking tools. Schedule planning outage milestone update meeting with key stakeholders.
• Works with operations and maintenance manager on monthly schedule and coverage.
• Assumes the responsibility of the CRO (Control Room Operator) as required, if needed.
• Reviews journals, logbooks, shift turnovers, inspection of watch (IOW) surveillance round sheets, and various other reports, to identify trends and potential issues.
• Will be trained and well versed in GADS reporting.
• Assumes the responsibilities of the Maintenance or Operations Manager whenever the designated manager is not onsite or is unavailable.
Maintenance Activities:
• Plan and coordinate mechanical, electrical, and technical contract maintenance activities with appropriate Manager and employees within the assigned area of responsibility, including daily, short-range and long-range planning.
• Perform continuous review of plans and activities to determine ways to increase the value of the Owner's asset.
• Prepare, track and maintain cost estimates and schedules.
• Utilize records and reports to assist in establishing frequency of maintenance requirements.
• Interact with Operations staff to improve maintenance effectiveness.
• Ensure the maintenance activities are properly supported with necessary parts, tooling and services on a timely basis.
Maintenance Management System Coordination/Oversight (CMMS)
• Assist Maintenance Manager managing work orders
• Complete purchase requisitions in CMMS
• Input work orders
• Assist Maintenance Manager on managing Document Library by updating Drawings and OEM Manuals as needed.
• Create new Preventative Maintenance Tasks as required
• Adjust Preventive Maintenance frequency as directed
• Maintain equipment list and history
• Report CMMS issues to Management on a timely basis
• Provide training and problem solving for other employees on the CMMS
• Perform audits on portions of the CMMS
• Maintain paper and electronic files to document maintenance history, in particular
with respect to required compliance.
• Perform other duties as needed to maintain the CMMS
• Contact vendors and contractors to obtain quotes or estimates for goods and services.
• Review specifications, scope of work, and pricing with appropriate Managers,
consultants or employees.
• Coordinate deliveries and work dates with vendors and contractors, respectively.
• Expedite deliveries and start dates.
The Maintenance & Operations Coordinator reports to the Maintenance Manager and works in cooperation with the other site Managers and maintenance employees as needed to insure the safe, efficient, reliable, operation and maintenance of the plant.
Education and Experience – An equivalent combination of education, training and experience will be considered.
• Minimum of 3 years in control room operations in lieu of education; or Bachelor’s or Two-year Technical degree in engineering or the physical sciences preferred.
• 2-5 years of experience in a maintenance/operations role preferably in the power generation industry
• Minimum of 2 years in a supervisory role preferred
• Requires strong personal computer skills specifically in Word, Excel, Project and
CMMS. Experience in Maximo is a strong plus.
• Ability to maintain strict confidentiality of sensitive information
• Excellent negotiation and problem-solving skills
• Skill in procurement, purchasing requirements, analysis and negotiation
• Effective in building and managing supplier relationships
• Proven verbal and written communication skills
• Excellent/effective interpersonal/team skills
• Organization skills with the ability to meet deadlines and manage multiple tasks

proficient with the use of power and precision tools.
• Must be cooperative with those he/she contacts in this work and have the ability to work without direct supervision.
• Must know the hazards involved and the safety precautions to be practiced in the operation and maintenance of power plant equipment and machinery.
• Work within and insure strict adherence to all safety practices and procedures.
• Excel and scheduling along with Basic data entry/computer skills.
• Work as a team. Must be able to pool our knowledge and energy to work in tandem to completely understand and productively respond to all of the business challenges.

Work Environment – Environmental or atmospheric conditions commonly associated with the performance of the functions of this job.
• Protective equipment such as hard hats, safety glasses, air masks, ear protection, chemical suits, hot gloves, high voltage protective equipment and other equipment must be worn in the performance of some duties.
• Work with hazardous materials may be required.
• Requires working extended working hours, varied shifts or 12 hour shifts with weekend and holiday work as required by schedules, workload and plant conditions. On call status (day and night) may be required.
• Includes working indoors and outdoors.
