Works under supervision of the Senior Associate Athletics Director for Student-Athlete Health and Well-Being.
Assumes responsibility for the leadership, management, development, and oversight of the Department of Performance Nutrition for Olympic Sports.
Oversees purchasing and budgeting of supplies and equipment for the Department of Performance Nutrition for Olympic Sports.
Oversees inventory of supplies and equipment for the Department of Performance Nutrition for Olympic Sports.
Oversees maintenance of all equipment for the Department of Performance Nutrition for Olympic Sports.
Oversees and administers the development of a comprehensive nutrition program for Olympic Sports that focuses on injury prevention, athletic performance enhancement, and mental discipline in conjunction with members of the High Performance Team.
Communicate and collaborate with student-athletes, administration, coaches, sports medicine, and other support staff on a daily basis.
Oversees the development, review, and implementation of departmental policies and procedures.
Oversees the operation of the App Fuel Station’s facilities.
Organizes and administers weekly/monthly Department of Performance Nutrition staff meetings.
Serve as a member of the department’s High Performance Team.
Attends monthly High Performance Team meetings (when available).
Directly oversees nutrition staff for Department of Performance Nutrition for Olympic Sports.
Develop strategies to ensure that student-athletes are instructed and utilize proper nutritional habits.
Facilitate integration of new sport specific nutritional strategies.
Develop strategies to maximize athletic performance while minimizing occurrence of injury in a safe, structured training environment.
Work in conjunction with the coaches to implement an inclusive nutritional program and implement year round programs.
Maintain a positive visibility.
Oversees the coordination of schedules and needs for App Fuel Stations.
Maintain continuing education according to the requirements. (Certification)
Abide by the rules as set forth by the National Collegiate Athletic Association, Southern Conference, and Sunbelt Conference.
Performs miscellaneous related duties.
Performs other duties as assigned by the Senior Associate Athletics Director for Student-Athlete Health and Well-Being.
Preferred Qualifications
Registered Dietitian ( RDN), preferred Master’s, and at least one year of experience working in a collegiate or comparable setting as a student, GA, intern, fellow, or staff role.Experience
