As an Olympics Art Director in Brand, Creative, you will lead a small, focused team in concepting, designing, and art directing brand work for JPMorganChase's first-ever Olympic partnership. On any given day, you'll move between hands-on design execution, creative direction, and team leadership—ensuring every deliverable meets the highest standard of craft and brand consistency. This work matters because it defines how JPMorganChase shows up in a moment of global attention, creating cohesive, inspiring brand experiences that resonate with audiences worldwide.

Job responsibilities

  • Lead and own art direction for Olympic partnership work across print, digital, environmental, and publication—developing ambitious, breakthrough ideas with minimal oversight.
  • Concept and art direct from scratch, including storyboards, comps, and key visuals to sell ideas and guide execution.
  • Develop and evolve visual identity systems and toolkits to ensure consistency and scalability across partnership assets.
  • Execute high-craft design hands-on while setting the standard for composition, typography, layout, and finish.
  • Ensure work is strategically sound and on brief, aligned to brand, audience, and partnership objectives.
  • Build strong client/partner relationships; own presentations and work directly with stakeholders through production.
  • Partner with copy, strategy, marketing, production, and external agencies to deliver cohesive outcomes on time.
  • Lead and mentor a small team—setting expectations, giving clear feedback, and supporting growth.
  • Give and receive constructive feedback respectfully; maintain quality while iterating quickly.
  • Stay current on design, sport, art, and culture, integrating AI tools and emerging tech to enhance ideation and production.

Required qualifications, capabilities and skills

  • 5+ years of experience in brand design, art direction, or a related creative discipline.
  • 3 years of experience leading or directing small creative teams.
  • A portfolio demonstrating exceptional art direction, brand design systems, and hands-on craft across multiple channels.
  • Bachelor's degree in Design, Visual Arts, or a related field (or equivalent practical experience).
  • Expert proficiency in Adobe Creative Suite and Figma.
  • Demonstrated experience with generative AI tools and an intrinsic interest in adopting emerging creative technologies.
  • Strong conceptual thinking and strategic design capability—able to connect visual decisions to brand intent and business goals.
  • Excellent presentation, written, and verbal communication skills; able to articulate creative rationale to senior audiences.
  • Proven ability to balance hands-on execution with team leadership and creative direction.
  • Extreme attention to detail and a consistently high bar for quality.
  • Strong time management and comfort operating across multiple workstreams in a dynamic environment.

Preferred qualifications, capabilities and skills

  • Deep passion for sport and culture, with experience art directing creative for sports brands, athletes, leagues, or entertainment properties.
  • Experience art directing work for large-scale partnerships, sponsorships, or cultural moments.
  • Motion design or video direction experience.
  • Experience building and scaling brand identity systems from the ground up.
  • Familiarity with production processes across print, environmental, and digital channels.
  • Experience mentoring junior and mid-level designers.
  • Strong storytelling instincts and a point of view grounded in craft and brand strategy.
