WHAT THIS ROLE IS ALL ABOUT

The Venue Manager will be the brand ambassador for OliOli® and lead day-to-day operations at OliOli® Doha. Their responsibilities will include (a) adhering to OliOli® brand standards and values; (b) embedding OliOli® Doha in the local community and overseeing all aspects of guest engagement and satisfaction, including leading and inspiring a team of approximately 40 professionals; (c) implementing the creative calendar (events, activations, camps, installations, and more) provided by the corporate office; (d) fostering a culture of flawless execution of guest experiences and continuous improvement; (e) overseeing back-of-house functions, including HR, Admin, Procurement, Finance, and Operations; (f) taking ownership of the venue's financial performance and providing leadership to the sales & marketing team; (g) overseeing facilities and exhibit management; and (h) reporting to and collaborating with the OliOli® corporate office.


WHAT WE'LL TRUST YOU WITH

Guest Engagement/Satisfaction:

  • Oversee guest engagement and ensure children and families have an awesome and memorable experience at OliOli® Doha.
  • Establish the venue as the premier destination for children's activities (for residents and tourists) and promote it as an informal learning environment to local schools and educational groups.
  • Regularly gather and analyze guest feedback to continuously improve services and promptly resolve issues.
  • Ensure a safe environment for both guests and staff through proper training and safety protocols.

Leadership:

  • Collaborate with OliOli® corporate office while providing leadership and direction to the Doha team on a day-to-day basis.
  • Ensure the team understands and embodies OliOli®'s purpose and values.
  • Supervise the management team's performance, provide regular feedback, and support development.
  • Manage frontline staff to ensure they are well-prepared for group visits and special programs.
  • Foster a positive, guest-centric, and team-oriented culture.
  • Promote clear and open communication within the team.
  • Boost morale through recognition, motivation, training, and collaboration.
  • Inspire the team to create an engaging experience for all guests.
  • Develop a training schedule, including external experts when needed.

Commercial aspect:

  • Optimize revenue (while adhering to brand standards) by focusing on sales and marketing efforts tailored to the local market, collaborating closely with the corporate office on marketing campaigns and the calendar.
  • Take full ownership of the venue's profitability by carefully balancing complex and competing priorities.
  • Prepare monthly reports on the venue's overall performance in accordance with budgets and KPIs.

Implementation of the creative calendar:

  • Create the execution framework to deliver a variety of creative programs throughout the year.
  • Develop a solid understanding of the programs and prepare the execution plan on a quarterly basis; prepare the team and ensure they have clarity and visibility into expectations for programming activities.
  • Take a hands-on (on-the-floor) approach during large events and activations; speak with guests daily to understand feedback and identify improvement opportunities.
  • Work with the team to prepare a detailed debrief for each program.

Operations and other responsibilities:

  • Lead the facilities team to ensure that the premises remain safe, clean, and presentable, with all exhibits and equipment consistently in good working conditions.
  • Ensure all health, safety, and local regulations are adhered to.
  • Engage with government authorities on an as-needed basis for the smooth running of the operations of the museum.
  • Oversee all administrative and operational aspects of the venue.
  • Perform any other duties required to successfully establish the museum and sustain that success over the years.


WHAT YOU'LL NEED TO BRING TO THE TABLE

  • A minimum of 8 years of progressively responsible experience in a comparable organization, preferably in edutainment, hospitality, or F&B industries.
  • Demonstrated experience launching and guiding organizations through growth while delivering a great experience for guests, especially children and their families.
  • Passion for children's emotional, physical, and intellectual development.
  • Decisive yet empowering leadership and management skills, with the ability to build collaborative, result-driven teams.
  • Ability to set the agenda for the organization and align and motivate the team to deliver against the museum's objectives.
  • Proven track record of driving financial performance through successful management of annual budgets and the execution of strategic initiatives to maximize venue revenue.
  • Deep knowledge of operations, well-tested in high-pressure and high-traffic settings.
  • Empathetic, creative, passionate, hands-on, and guest-centric mindset, with strong interpersonal skills.
  • Exceptional communication skills, with the ability to inspire diverse audiences and effectively convey the vision and mission of OliOli®.
  • Strong skills in team recruitment, development, and maintaining flexibility in challenging environments.
  • Honesty, integrity, calmness under pressure, and a drive for excellence and innovation.
  • Approachable and open-minded nature that fosters a positive organizational culture.
