In the RAIL segment, Powerlines is a full service provider and offers its customers the whole range of services from Consulting and System Design to Installation and Maintenance.

OLEC 3 - Coatbridge, Scotland

Main Duties:

  • Carry out OLE installation works to OLEC 3 standard, ensuring all activities are completed safely, efficiently, and in accordance with specifications and instructions.
  • Ensure all works are undertaken using approved “For Construction” drawings and documentation.
  • Take responsibility for the quality of installation, checking materials during use and reporting any defects, damage, or shortages to supervision.
  • Demonstrate strong competence in the installation, removal, and modification of various OLE equipment types, ensuring works are completed to required tolerances and standards.
  • Safely operate and utilise tools, plant, and specialist OLE equipment, ensuring they are fit for purpose and used correctly.
  • Work competently both as part of a team and independently, stepping up to act as Site Supervisor where required.
  • Support efficient delivery of works by assisting with setting up work sites, handling materials, and preparing installations.
  • Attend and actively participate in all briefings and toolbox talks, ensuring full understanding of work scope, risks, and control measures.
  • Comply with all safe systems of work, including Risk Assessments, Method Statements/WPPs, and railway protection arrangements.
  • Promote and maintain high standards of health, safety, quality, and environmental compliance, adhering to company policies and procedures at all times.
  • Take responsibility for the correct use, care, and security of tools, plant, equipment, and PPE.
  • Act responsibly to ensure that your actions do not compromise the safety, quality, or performance of the installation.

The person:

  • Valid PTS and hold all elements of OLEC3 qualifications
  • Have extensive practical OLE experience/knowledge on multiple OLE types.
  • Have an excellent knowledge of practical OLE rigging
  • Computer literacy including various software programmes.
  • Willingness to travel and to learn and open minded for new technologies
  • The ability to work effectively as part of a team and support as required
  • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills.
  • The ability to stay calm and meet deadlines.
  • Full driving licence. Ability to travel to different locations as and when required.
