OLE Supervisor - Coatbridge, Scotland

Main Duties:

  • Supervise OLE operatives on site, taking direct responsibility for the safe delivery and quality of all works under your control.
  • Ensure all activities are carried out in accordance with approved “For Construction” drawings, specifications, Risk Assessments, Work Package Plans (WPPs), and task briefings.
  • Take ownership of site safety for staff and others you may interface with, ensuring appropriate protection arrangements are in place (e.g. COSS, isolations, possessions) and that all staff are fully briefed and compliant.
  • Deliver clear and effective site briefings, ensuring teams understand the scope of work, risks, controls, and method of execution.
  • Maintain high standards of quality assurance, carrying out regular inspections to ensure installations meet required standards and specifications.
  • Ensure accurate and timely completion of all site documentation, including daily work reports and quality assurance documentation ensuring they are issued at the end of each shift.
  • Maintain close communication with OLE Engineers, Construction Managers, and other supervisors to ensure effective coordination of site activities.
  • Ensure all tools, plant, materials, and equipment are available, fit for purpose, and supported by valid certification where required.
  • Monitor team attendance, vehicle use, and resource allocation, reporting any issues or non-compliance to the construction manager for the project.
  • Liaise with other contractors on site to avoid clashes and ensure efficient, coordinated delivery of works.
  • Carry out site inspections and 10% checks to monitor progress, safety, and quality, addressing/escalating any issues promptly.
  • Ensure compliance with company environmental requirements and standards.
  • Promote good working practices and provide mentorship to OLEC2 and OLEC3 staff, sharing knowledge and maintaining high standards of OLE installation.
  • Take responsibility for the proper use and care of company property, including vehicles, tools, and equipment.
  • Undertake any other duties that you are qualified to do to support safe and efficient project delivery.

The person:

  • Experience in supervising OLE projects and operatives on the projects.
  • Experience in management of members of the team and other employees.
  • Valid PTS and hold all elements of OLEC3 qualifications
  • Hold OLEC4 or have the relevant knowledge to attain OLEC 4 via the SPL Professional Head assessment.
  • Have extensive practical OLE experience/knowledge on multiple OLE types.
  • Have an excellent knowledge of practical OLE rigging
  • Computer literacy including various software programmes.
  • Willingness to travel and to learn and open minded for new technologies
  • The ability to work effectively as part of a team and support as required
  • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.
  • Full driving licence and vehicle
  • Excellent interpersonal skills.
  • The ability to stay calm and meet deadlines.
  • Ability to travel to different locations as and when required.
