OLE Project Engineer (Construction) - Glasgow, Scotland

Main Duties:

  • Support the Senior OLE Engineer / CRE in delivering OLE works safely, on programme, and to required quality and technical standards.
  • Ensure works are carried out in accordance with approved “For Construction” drawings, specifications, and engineering procedures.
  • Review designs for constructability, raising Technical Queries (TQs) and supporting control of design changes.
  • Prepare and manage construction documentation, including WPPs, Task Briefings, ITPs, and site packs.
  • Provide day-to-day technical support to site teams, including setting out, surveying, and resolving technical issues.
  • Maintain accurate project records, reporting, and trackers, ensuring audit readiness and supporting handover documentation.
  • Support quality assurance, completing inspections and records, and raising/closing NCRs and defects as required.
  • Monitor site activities to ensure compliance with safe systems of work, including WPPs and risk assessments.
  • Assist with engineering assurance, audits, and entry into service activities.
  • Coordinate with site teams, subcontractors, and stakeholders to support efficient delivery.
  • Support resource, material, and programme planning, including inputs to project schedules.
  • Assist with commercial processes, including change identification and record-keeping.
  • Maintain effective communication with the project team and support client interface where required.
  • Ensure compliance with environmental and company procedures.

The Person:

  • Minimum 5 years’ experience in Engineering and a minimum of 5 years’ in the railway electrification sector.
  • Experience in providing site technical support in relation to OLE Construction works.
  • Valid PTS.
  • Familiar with Risk Assessments.
  • Computer literacy including various software programmes (Microsoft Office, Bentley viewer, ProjectWise).
  • Willingness to learn and open minded for new technologies.
  • The ability to work effectively as part of a team and support as required.
  • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.
  • Full driving licence and vehicle.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills.
  • The ability to stay calm and meet deadlines.
  • Ability to travel to different locations as and when required.
  • Required to work on site on weekends and unsocial hours including nights.
