The Orthotic and Prosthetic Clinical Manager provides clinical and operational leadership for assigned clinic location(s), patient populations, and/or specialty service lines within the Department of Orthopaedic Surgery. In addition to maintaining an advanced clinical practice, the Clincal Manager is responsible for overseeing the delivery of safe, high-quality, and efficient orthotic and prosthetic services while ensuring compliance with applicable regulatory, accreditation, and departmental standards.
The Clinical Manager is accountable for monitoring clinical quality, patient safety, operational performance, and financial outcomes within their assigned area(s) of responsibility. The position identifies opportunities to improve patient access, clinical workflows, operational efficiency, and revenue performance through process improvement, business development, referral relationship management, and implementation of departmental initiatives.
The Clinical Manager provides day-to-day leadership for assigned clinical staff by overseeing performance, supporting professional development, optimizing staffing and resource utilization, and fostering a culture of accountability, collaboration, and continuous improvement. As a member of the Orthotics & Prosthetics leadership team, the Clinical Manager participates in divisional planning and serves as a local leader responsible for communicating and implementing departmental priorities, operational changes, and quality improvement initiatives.

The Department of Orthopaedic Surgery is responsible for the department's academic, teaching, patient care professional services and research activities under the UCSF School of Medicine. The department has over 400 academic and staff personnel at multiple sites (UC, Mt. Zion, MB, SFGH, and VAMC). The Orthotic and Prosthetic Department provides joint patient care with numerous services across the UCSF health care system.
