Qualifications

Essential Functions

  • Keep work station, machinery & materials clean & safe.
  • Ensure proper source materials for offset printing based on MIS Planning & Prod Specifications & job-related information.
  • Continuously monitor and update MIS master schedule with Production Scheduler in addition to other process schedules (Graphics, Litho/Printing, Cutting, Flexo Printing, Folding, Application, Inspection, and Dispatch/Shipping).
  • Determine the type of setup needed.
  • Resent impression dials, caliper plates, and determine packing requirements.
  • Examine and/or mount plates as necessary.
  • Approve feeder, stock register, and delivery settings.
  • Check position & side guides, register plates, and check for proper bleeds.
  • Run jobs according to customer specifications.
  • Complete all paperwork pertaining to the job, including recording any pertinent information that will assist in re-running the customer job.
  • Ensure that the job bag is complete.
  • Training of other co-workers as needed for production demands.
  • Other duties and responsibilities as may be assigned by Lead/Supervisor/Manager.

Work Environment

Could be exposed to fumes, airborne particles, and print chemicals involved in a printing environment. The employee is frequently exposed to moving mechanical parts. The noise level is moderately loud.

Physical Demands - The following physical qualifications must be met to perform the essential functions of this job:

  • Ability to bend, reach, crawl, twist, and lift at least 50 pounds unassisted is required.
  • The ability to remain in a standing position for long periods is required.
  • The ability to see, hear, count, measure, read, and follow verbal directives in English is required. The ability to differentiate colors, horizontal and vertical positions is required.
  • The ability to utilize fine motor skills while working on sensitive machinery is essential.
  • The ability to perform repetitive upper-body motions is required.

Position Type / Expected Hours of Work

This is a full-time position. Must be flexible with hours and work overtime when needed.

Required Education/Experience

Knowledge of offset printing production is required.

Demonstrated mechanical abilities on complex machinery are required.

Basic PC knowledge is required

Preferred Education and Experience

5 years’ experience operating a high-speed Heidelberg offset press is strongly preferred.
