The Undergraduate Recruitment and Admissions Office (URAO) of HKUST is seeking an Officer (Marketing and Event) to support branding, digital marketing and student recruitment initiatives for the University’s undergraduate admissions. The appointee will help strengthen HKUST’s visibility in Hong Kong, Chinese Mainland and international markets through content creation, social media marketing, website development and engagement campaigns. The role involves implementing marketing strategies across URAO’s communication channels, including Facebook, Instagram, WeChat, XiaoHongShu, websites and other digital platforms. The appointee will create original content, support international and Chinese Mainland student recruitment campaigns, enhance online engagement and contribute to projects that strengthen HKUST’s brand awareness and stakeholder engagement. Strong writing skills, creativity, and an understanding of digital marketing technologies and social media trends are essential.
The appointee is expected to perform the following duties:
Applicants should possess a degree in Marketing, Linguistics, Communications, or a related field, along with a minimum of 3 years of experience in content creation, communication, marketing, or branding. Experience working in higher education institutions is considered an advantage.
The ideal candidate should have practical experience across multiple social media platforms, stay updated on the latest digital marketing technologies and trends relevant to higher education in Hong Kong, Mainland China, and abroad, and be proficient in producing engaging content that combines text, images, and videos.
The appointee should be self-driven, detail-oriented, and possess a collaborative mindset. They need strong communication, multitasking, and analytical skills, with proficiency in both written and spoken English and Chinese. Additionally, familiarity with WeChat, XiaoHongShu, Microsoft Office, graphic design software, and photo/video editing tools is required. (Duration: 2 years, renewable)
Starting salary will be commensurate with qualifications and experience. Fringe benefits including annual leave, medical and dental benefits will be provided. A gratuity will be payable upon successful completion of contract.
