Job Description

To ensure maximum availability, reliability, and performance of plastic injection moulds by effectively managing preventive maintenance, breakdown maintenance, spare parts planning, mould life monitoring, and technical improvements. The role will provide dedicated toolroom support for critical projects and ensure timely resolution of mould-related issues to minimize production downtime and improve tooling life.

  • Perform timely preventive and corrective maintenance on plastic injection molds.
  • Prioritize and attend to mold breakdowns, coordinating with internal and external resources to minimize downtime.
  • Conduct systematic troubleshooting and Root Cause Analysis (RCA) for repetitive mold failures.
  • Maintain accurate records of mold history, maintenance, breakdowns, and life data, adhering to ISO documentation standards.
  • Monitor mold life and cavity condition, preparing renewal or refurbishment plans as needed.
  • Plan and manage critical mold spare parts to ensure quick availability during breakdowns and maintenance.
  • Coordinate with external toolrooms and vendors for mold repairs, modifications, and technical improvements.
  • Review and assess the technical feasibility of mold modifications in collaboration with cross-functional teams.
  • Support mold trials after repairs or modifications, ensuring successful handover for production.
  • Develop contingency plans for critical molds to maintain production continuity during major breakdowns.
  • A minimum of 3 years of experience in a similar role, preferably in the plastic injection molding industry.
  • Strong knowledge of mold systems, including cores, cavities, sliders, lifters, and hydraulic components.
  • Proficiency in reading and interpreting 2D mold drawings, assembly drawings, and component drawings.
  • Familiarity with basic toolroom manufacturing processes such as grinding, milling, drilling, and EDM.
  • Understanding of ISO systems, maintenance standards, and safety requirements.
  • Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills, with the ability to perform Root Cause Analysis (RCA).
  • Effective communication and coordination skills to collaborate with internal and external teams.
  • Ability to work independently and manage time effectively, prioritizing tasks to meet deadlines.
  • Willingness to support emergency and off-shift activities to ensure production continuity.
  • A proactive approach to continuous improvement and a commitment to maintaining high toolroom standards.
