Job Description

To support SAPS Assistant Managers and Managers in vessel performance monitoring, environmental compliance processes, daily data validation, and reporting activities. The role ensures accurate data handling, timely documentation, regulatory support, and basic analytics, enabling the overall SAPS function to deliver consistent service across the fleet.

ROLES ACCOUNTABILITIES:

  • Daily review of vessel noon report data, logs, ETS parameters,consumption, and voyage records.
  • Assist in preparing compliance documentation (EU-MRV/ETS, UK-MRV,IMO-DCS, VGP) and supporting ship onboarding requirements.
  • Provide general administrative and operational support for SAPS teams,including file management, data entry, tracker updates, and basic analytical tasks.
  • Generate routine performance reports, summaries, and pre-defined dashboards for internal teams and managers.
  • Coordinate with vessels and fleet teams to clarify data gaps, request corrections, and communicate routine observations.

Requirements

KEY SKILLS AND CAPABILITIES:

Technical skills

  • Deep expertise in vessel performance analytics, fuel efficiency, optimisation frameworks, and sustainability strategies.
  • Understanding of regulatory frameworks: CII, EEXI, EEDI, EU-ETS, FuelEU Maritime, DCS, MRV.
  • Understanding in AI/ML forecasting, data modelling, dashboard governance, and digital transformation.

Professional skills

Communication Skill

  • External: Owners, charterers, commercial operators, class societies, technology vendors, emissions verifiers, regulatory agencies, and international industry bodies.
  • Internal: Fleet/Technical teams, Digital/IT, Data Analytics, Compliance, Crewing, and all regional offices.

PROFESSIONAL EXPERIENCE AND EDUCATION:

Education:

  • Graduate (Science/Engineering/Maritime preferred)
  • Strong IT proficiency (Excel, BI tools, data portals)

Experience:

Minimum 1 year of experience in maritime operations, data handling, reporting, or compliance support

Specific Business Knowledge:

  • Basic understanding of ship operations, performance data, and maritime regulations
  • Comfortable with MS Office, Excel, and data tools
  • Detail-oriented, strong accuracy, willingness to learn
  • Good communication skills, ability to interact with multicultural teams
  • Ability to work in a structured, fast-paced environment
