The Opportunity (Vacancy: New Headcount)
Reporting directly to the Supervisor, Municipal Law Enforcement, this role is responsible for providing Animal Control response and education to the public for animal control calls received as well as enforcing municipal by-laws including but not limited to, Clean Yards, Signs Noise and Nuisance as well as Traffic and Business Licensing.

The Ideal Candidate
We are seeking a professional with post-secondary diploma in Criminal Justice and Public Policy, Law Enforcement, Criminology, or closely related field. Our ideal candidate has a minimum two (2) years related experience in an enforcement environment demonstrating your ability to conduct investigations with respect to animal care, or handling. The successful candidate would also hold a valid G class License with no more than three (3) demerit points.
The ideal candidate will have demonstrated ability to exercise significant discretion and sensitivity. We are seeking an individual with superior interpersonal skills including the ability to work effectively in a team environment and demonstrated analytical and problem-solving skills. Computer proficiency in MS Office (Word, Excel, Outlook,) and knowledge of Amanda is an asset.
The successful candidate for Officer, Animal Services will be required to work a flexible schedule, including in the office, remotely and after hours (as required).
This position offers a salary range of $87,912.40 - $109,890.50 plus a competitive benefit package.
Satisfactory passing of a criminal record check, and proof of qualifications will be required of any successful candidate(s) for this position.
