$35,217.00/Annually

  • Scanning, reviewing, recording, and verifying of documents as needed in the office.

  • Assist the public by telephone and at the front desk with locating documents and in the use of the public computers.

  • Provide courteous customer service in the office, over the phone, or using our Tawk.To software.

  • Assist the public in the navigation of Recorder of Deeds website, www.lancasterdeeds.com.

REPORTING RELATIONSHIPS

  • Supervision provided by Chief Deputy Recorder

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS

  • Essential functions of the position require knowledge of document types, recordability rules, real estate transfer tax, notary regulations, recording fees, municipalities and school districts within the county.

  • Requirements include both the ability to record and the ability to scan documents.

  • Employee will also be asked to assist the public with public searches, cover page creation, and any non-legal recording questions.

  • The amount of time spent doing these job functions can adjust daily at supervisor's direction.

  • Employee will be responsible for the distribution and collection of money taken in during the business day and reconciling the amount of monies collected with the supervisor at the end of each day.

  • Will assist in uploading of any subdivision plans that come into the office.

  • Will assist in uploading notary commissions to the state website per state requirements.

OTHER SPECIFIC TASKS OR DUTIES

  • Logging on and off public computers weekly for IT updates

  • Making sure all public computers are functional and ready for use

  • Assist with special projects and performs other duties as assigned.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

  • High school Diploma

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES

  • Computer literate

  • Solid mathematical skills

  • Professional customer service manners

  • Attention to detail
