Scope of Position

The Office Coordinator operates within established departmental policies and healthcare operational standards, supporting a high-volume, fast-paced hospital environment. The role impacts patient throughput, service efficiency, and operational readiness across multiple clinical service lines. While functioning as an individual contributor, the position exercises independent judgment in prioritizing workflow, resolving routine operational issues, monitoring performance metrics, and escalating concerns to leadership when necessary. The role requires collaboration with supervisors, transporters, nursing units, procedural areas, finance, and human resources to ensure alignment with patient safety, compliance, and service excellence expectations.

The Office Coordinator for Diagnostic Transportation is responsible for supporting the daily operational and administrative functions of the department to ensure efficient patient movement across nursing units and diagnostic areas at University Hospital. This role serves as a central coordination point between transport staff, clinical units, and leadership by managing dispatch workflows, tracking productivity metrics, supporting scheduling and compliance activities, and maintaining accurate operational documentation. The position blends technical dispatch responsibilities with administrative oversight and includes direct patient transport support based on operational demand.

Minimum Qualifications

  • High School diploma or GED. Certification or vocational training may be preferred.

  • 1 year of relevant experience required. 2-4 years of relevant experience preferred.
