Overview

• Collects and documents pertinent patient information to facilitate scheduling, insurance verification, authorization, and pre-registration prior to the initiation of rehabilitation services.
• Assists with verifying insurance benefits and other third-party coverage and obtaining required pre-certifications or authorizations.
• Coordinates financial matters with internal departments and external agencies to support timely access to services.
• Addresses patient non-financial concerns and refers matters to the appropriate department or external agency as needed.
• Accurately enters and maintains patient and related information in applicable computer systems and electronic databases.

Qualifications

Minimum Education and Experience Requirements

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• Proficiency with computers and standard office software, including word processing applications, required.
• Minimum of one year of experience in a medical setting preferred.
• Previous experience in a rehabilitation setting preferred.

Licensure/Certification/Registration

• None required.

Motor Vehicle Operator Designation

• This position does not require the employee to operate a motor vehicle for assigned business purposes.
