The Supreme Court of Ohio is seeking an Intern the Public Information Office – Creative Services Section. The Public Information Intern supports the Office of Public Information by assisting with website management, graphic design, and streamlining operations.

What You'll Do:
The following duties are normal for this position. These are not to be construed as exclusive or all-inclusive. Other duties may be required and assigned.

  • Website Management:
    • Content Updates: Assist web team with website updates using our Content Management System (CMS).

    • UI/UX Design: Support team to enhance the user experience on our website. Your input will be valuable in making our web presence more intuitive and user-friendly.
    • Accessibility & Form Remediation: Assist the team with updating and remediating digital forms and supporting ADA‑compliant improvements across web and digital content to ensure accessibility for all users.
  • Graphic Design: Support team with various design projects. This may include creating content for web, social media, and other digital communication materials.
  • Process Development: Assist in developing standard operating procedures for responsibilities performed to help streamline operations and provide clear guidelines for future interns and team members.
  • Team Collaboration: Collaborate with team members to ensure consistent and accurate messaging across all communication channels.
  • Other duties as assigned.

    This position has no supervisory responsibilities.

QUALIFICATIONS & EXPERIENCE
Current undergraduate or graduate student in good academic standing. Preferably in front-end web design, UI/UX design, multimedia/graphic design, communications, or a related field.

  • Web Design & Development: Demonstrated skills in web design and proficiency in web development, including knowledge in programming languages used for website development.

  • Content Creation: Proficient in developing compelling public messaging.
  • Professionalism: Ability to perform all aspects of the job with professionalism, patience, discretion, and confidentiality.
  • Independence and Teamwork: Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Communication: Demonstrates exceptional communication skills, both verbal and written, with the ability to convey information clearly and effectively.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS
This position operates in an office environment. This role routinely uses standard office equipment, including but not limited to computers and phones. The employee may be required to move about the office and building. While performing the duties of this job, the employee will regularly be required to communicate and exchange information, including but not limited to research and writing.

COURT EXPECTATIONS OF EMPLOYEE
Employees may be regularly exposed to sensitive information, and the employee is expected to keep any such information strictly confidential.
In completing the duties and responsibilities of the position, the Court expects the employee will:

  • Maintain regular, reliable, and punctual attendance.
Supplemental Information

Supplemental Information:
This internship is designed to be part-time (270 hours maximum) beginning after September 1, 2026, and ending before December 31, 2026. Applicants must have the ability to schedule most on-site hours in Columbus between 8:00 am – 5:00 pm weekdays (scheduling is flexible within these hours). If your university program offers credit for internships, we will try to tailor the internship to the length/hours desired. The position is unpaid and therefore not eligible for benefits.
