Primary Duties and Responsibilities
The student in this position will assist Office of Community and Government Relations in strengthening the partnership with Metropolitan Board of Parks and Recreation and Easley Center by helping to market and do public relations that will improve Parks and Recreation’s outreach for Parks’ programs designed to meet the changing needs of the Edgehill community.
Help to plan and execute tailored communications vehicles, including social media, to communicate with constituents and partners in the Edgehill/Rose Park area for Metro Parks
Do data entry as necessary.
Meet with Metro Parks and Easley Center/Rose Park staff and develop relationships with Belmont's Edgehill neighborhood partners.
May attend neighborhood meetings.
May facilitate or work with Edgehill youth to produce communications designed to promote programs at Easley Center/Rose Park.
Required Qualifications
Excellent grammar
Spelling & punctuation
Knowledge of regulations governing publication of written material
Organizational skills
Working knowledge of computer software programs used to write and edit various materials
Proofreading and editing skills
Ability to write and speak clearly and effectively
Ability to establish relationships
Use of Social Media
Work on deadline
Confidentiality
Have or use transportation to work off Belmont campus.
Required EducationMust be enrolled as a current student at Belmont. Required ExperiencePaid or volunteer work on print or electronic newspaper, blogs, YouTubes, social media for high school, college, church, non-profit, etc.
