Job Title: Student Videographer/Assistant

Department: Office of Communications

Supervisor: Jarrod Fay

Starting Rate of Pay: $10

Length of Time: Eligible for rehire on a semester basis.

Job Location/ Hours Required:

The candidate will perform most/all job duties in College Village/Roberts Hall 346). Hours may vary depending on the job requirements; however, the total number of hours a student employee may work per week is 20 hours. This position varies on hours required per week. It is based on video project needs.

Responsibilities

  • 1. Assist Video Production Specialist with set-up of equipment, lighting, cameras and mics
  • 2. Film a variety of events, activities, and interviews on campus, ensuring high-quality footage and audio.
  • 3. Edit video footage using industry-standard software to produce polished final products.
  • 4. Incorporate graphics, music, and other elements to enhance the visual appeal of videos.
  • 5. Manage equipment, including cameras, tripods, microphones, and lighting, to ensure proper functionality and maintenance.
  • 6. Organize and maintain a library of video assets for easy access by the marketing team.
  • 7. Stay updated on trends and best practices in videography to continually improve skills and techniques.

Required Qualifications:

  1. Current enrollment as a student at High Point University.
  2. Proficiency in videography techniques, including filming, lighting, and audio recording. (on-the-job training available)
  3. Proficiency in video editing software such as Adobe Premiere Pro, Final Cut Pro, or similar. (on-the-job training available)

Desired Skills:

  • Excellent communication and teamwork skills to collaborate effectively with the marketing team and other stakeholders.
  • Ability to arrive on time and manage time effectively and prioritize tasks to meet deadlines.
  • Previous experience in videography or video editing helpful but not required.
