This Role's Impact

Thie Office Manager role supports the mission of Hope Centre by helping create welcoming, organised, and well‑functioning ministry environments through practical reception, hospitality, and administrative assistance. By maintaining reliable systems, prepared spaces, and helpful communication touchpoints, the role strengthens the day‑to‑day effectiveness of the location. In fulfilling these responsibilities with care and excellence, this position contributes to the wider church by ensuring staff, volunteers, and the community are supported and equipped to flourish.

Position-Specific Responsibilities

  • Reception & Guest Support: Provides a warm, helpful presence at reception by assisting with enquiries, sharing general information, and supporting communication across the location.
  • Office & Hospitality Support: Helps maintain a clean, organised office and kitchen environment, supports basic hospitality needs, and assists with stock and simple ordering.
  • Basic Finance & Purchasing Administration: Supports weekly counts, simple transactions, and routine purchasing to keep ministry operations running smoothly.
  • Planning Center Administration: Assists with maintaining accurate group pages, calendars, room and bus bookings, rostering assistance and other admin updates that support ministry teams.
  • Facilities & Maintenance Coordination: Helps arrange and coordinate third‑party maintenance services to keep the location safe, functional, and well‑maintained.
  • Community Care and Assistance: Supports practical care initiatives such as hampers, referrals, and transport coordination, helping community members access church services and receive support.

Core Support Role Responsibilities

  • Empower ministry leaders to shepherd and support those within your ministry, with the primary aim to help every person develop and flourish in their own personal relationship with Jesus Christ (Acts 20:28).
  • Provide pastoral care to those belonging to the ministry you support when appropriate, liaising with your ministry leader when necessary.
  • Be responsible for any rostering, communication, and general care of any teams assigned to you, ensure they have everything they need to serve well.
  • Steward budgets and finances of the ministry you support within the guidelines and processes outlined by the Hope Centre Finance Team.
  • Steward physical resources (such as rooms, vehicles and other equipment) associated with the ministry you support
  • Participate in all location team meetings and events
  • Collaborate with other support team members to share and develop ideas and methods which help support Hope Centre ministries function more effectively and efficiently.

The person we're looking for

The person we’re looking for has a heart to serve, a love for Jesus and His people, and the ability to bring order and care to a busy office environment. A current Blue Card is required, and experience in an administrative or reception role is advtantageous. They are organised, adaptable, and willing to support a wide range of practical and administrative needs.

Hours: 22.8 Hours/Week

Work Days: Monday, Wednesday and Friday
