The Vice Chancellor’s Office of Opportunity and Outreach includes oversight of Advancing Excellence in Faculty and Staff Recruitment and Leadership, the Center for Science Education and Outreach; Climate and Belonging; Community Engagement and Dialogue; Disability, Jewish Life, LGBTQ, Multicultural, and CARE Resource Centers; the Office for the Prevention of Harassment and Discrimination, and the direct administrative office of the Vice Chancellor. These centralized services enable system improvements that foster and enhance collaboration, improve our effectiveness, and serve as a cornerstone for innovation and the engagement of all.
The UCSF MESA Program is housed in the Center for Science, Education and Outreach (CSEO), which is a unit within the Office of Opportunity and Outreach. Since 1999, CSEO has provided programs and services that lead to student academic success, increased college-going rates and exploration of various STEM careers for the students and schools we serve.
Involves managing or performing the administrative services or managing the full general operations of an academic or non-academic organization(s). Administrative services include activities in finance and human resources and may also include IT, facilities, or student services.
General management activities include long and short range strategic planning in determining the mission and directing all activities of multi- disciplinary departments through subordinate management staff.Applies organization policies and procedures to oversee a variety of ongoing administrative operational issues. Administers defined operational program. Analyzes and resolves operational problems of moderate scope.

Administers a defined operational program or activities which may include some of the following functions: finance, facilities, payroll, space planning, student services, human resources, communications, informational technology or safety.
Ensure strong and effective administration for the office of the Assistant Vice-Chancellor and the staff of the Center for Science, Education and Outreach.
Functions as a resource on issues such as supporting event operations, escalated customer service problems and vendor concerns.
Manage event logistics with administrative support, coordination and promotion of all program events sponsored by CSEO.
Responsible for managing the event evaluation process including data collection and collaboration with office’s Deputy Director to analyze results.
Gathers and analyzes financial and other resource data; prepares reports or analyses of operational activities, evaluates current and proposed services, etc.
Maintain accurate accounting information for all accounts in compliance with UCSF accounting procedures and reporting practices.
Assist with Office of Opportunity and Outreach special projects and special duties as assigned. Serve as backup to Executive Analyst and our Special Projects coordinator as necessary.
This position requires flexibility to orient and work at all UCSF Medical Center locations.

Solid communication and interpersonal skills to communicate effectively with all levels of staff verbally and in writing.
Solid organizational skills and ability to multi-task with demanding timeframes.
Working knowledge of common organization-specific and other computer application programs.
