The Illinois Department of Children and Family Services is seeking an organized, professional, and energetic individual to serve as Placement Clearance Desk Worker. Under direction, this position conduct involved searches from multiple informational sources to provide authorization or denial for placement of Department youth in care in licensed foster homes and unlicensed relative homes. This position will conduct background checks and review printouts. This position provides a great opportunity for someone who is detail oriented and interested in playing a supporting role in the Department’s call operations.

  • Serves as Placement Clearance Desk Worker.
  • Processes Background Checks requested from the SACWIS LEADS request log by conducting criminal background checks and reviewing printouts.
  • Regularly checks the Placement Clearance Desk (PCD) email box and fax for waivers and holds.
  • Responds to calls from various department and purchase of service staff requesting information on placement clearances, holds, background checks, and Recipient Identification Number (RIN's) temporary medical cards.
  • Maintains LEADS log of all inquiries made to the Law Enforcement Agencies Data System and maintains LEADS certification.
  • Performs other duties as required or assigned which are reasonably within the scope of the duties enumerated above.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

  • Requires knowledge, skill, and mental development equivalent to completion of high school
  • Requires 2 years of office experience
  • Requires ability to keyboard accurately at 45 wpm

CONDITIONS OF EMPLOYMENT

  • Requires ability to pass a background check.
  • Requires ability to secure and maintain Illinois State Police LEADS certification.
  • Requires ability to work mandatory overtime.
