About The Harris County Community Supervision and Corrections Department (CSCD):
The Harris County Community Supervision and Corrections Department (CSCD) is one of the largest probation departments in the United States, supervising more than 70,000 individuals and employing over 600 staff members across 6 locations. We provide a wide range of services including community supervision, outpatient counseling, cognitive-behavioral programming, and residential treatment, designed to strengthen our clients’ abilities and support their long-term success. With a focus on utilizing evidence-based practices, we aim to improve outcomes and reduce recidivism for all clients under supervision.
Position Overview:
Processes all payments, i.e., restitution, supervisory fee, etc., made through the Harris County Community Supervision & Corrections Department. Assists in the completion of all clerical tasks within his/her assigned Region/Program.
Duties and Responsibilities:
- Ensure that all payments are processed promptly and uniformly.
- Maintains an accurate, daily balance of all payments received.
- Assists CSOs with understanding/translating the Fee Screens when needed.
- Reconciles current day's totals at the end of the shift
- Responds to all inquiries in an efficient, courteous manner.
- Assist with answering multi-line switchboard and greet clients in courteous manner.
- Performs other related duties as assigned.
- Contributes to and helps create a positive work atmosphere by behaving and communicating in a cooperative and amicable manner with supervisors, coworkers, subordinates and members of the public.
- Works overtime as required.

Examples of duties
Education and Experience:
- High School Diploma or GED equivalent from an accredited educational institution.
- Experience with 10-key adding machine.
- At least six (6) months previous cashier experience and clerical.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
- Type 30 words per minute.
- Able to lift heavy files, up to 25-30 pounds.
- Thorough knowledge of current office practices and procedures.
- Good working knowledge of current computer functions and procedures.
Licensure:
- Must have a valid Texas Class C Automobile Operator’s License and must be insurable under the Department’s automobile insurance program.

Salary:
- $3,264.04 - $3,729.28 Monthly
- Depends on Qualifications
- Based on 26 Pay Periods

Organizational Relationships:
- Reports To: Shift Supervisor of the Business Office or in the case of the Cashier assigned to a Region/Program, he/she will report to the appropriate Region Manager only for the purposes of complying with Departmental Policies and Procedures. The Office Manager will assign the duties and responsibilities.
