Job Description

Embark on a journey within MCB Microfinance Limited to be part of its endeavour to provide business loans to micro and small entrepreneurs.

We are on the lookout for an Office Assistant to join our Team in Rodrigues.

As an Office Assistant, you will carry out logistics and administrative duties in line with established policies, procedures, and service standards to maintain an efficient office environment and support operational effectiveness and customer satisfaction.

In this role you will,

  • Coordinate and supervise cleaning and maintenance service providers to ensure office facilities remain clean, safe, and compliant with operational standards;
  • Identify premises and equipment maintenance needs (e.g. electrical, plumbing, air conditioning) and initiate corrective actions upon approval to ensure business continuity and minimize disruptions;
  • Monitor and verify execution of maintenance and repair works against intervention requirements to ensure quality and adherence to agreed specifications;
  • Maintain accurate records of maintenance activities and interventions to support tracking, reporting, and audit requirements;
  • Open and secure office premises according to defined schedules to ensure timely business operations and safeguard company assets;
  • Support weekend or exceptional operational openings and oversee service providers to ensure continuity of service and proper facility management;
  • Perform dispatch and delivery duties to ensure timely circulation of documents, materials, and operational items across locations;
  • Support procurement activities by preparing purchase orders, liaising with suppliers and following up on deliveries to ensure alignment with purchase orders and operational needs;
  • Verify received goods against delivery notes and purchase orders to ensure accuracy, completeness, and compliance with procurement standards;
  • Conduct periodic inventory counts and update stock records to maintain accurate stock levels and enable effective resource planning;
  • Maintain stock control records including receipts and issues to support transparency, accountability, and efficient inventory management;
  • Provide general administrative and operational support as assigned to ensure smooth day-to-day functioning of the office.

We are looking for candidates who have:

  • A School Certificate (SC) or equivalent qualification with at least two (2) credits obtained at SC level, including English Language;
  • At least 2 years of experience in one or more of the following areas: office administration, office support, facilities management, maintenance coordination, procurement support, stock control, or a similar role;
  • Experience gained through self-employment will also be considered.

A combination of both qualification & experience will be considered.
