Key Responsibilities:
•Administrative Support: Provide clerical assistance including managing Professor Blackett’s schedule and handling correspondence.
•Scheduling: Organizing and coordinating appointments, meetings, and events.
•Document Management: Maintaining and organizing files, documents, and office supplies, including data entry and updating records, and supporting the formatting of documents.
•Office Operations: Ensuring the Labour Law and Development Research Laboratory runs smoothly by managing daily operations, serving as a main administrative point of contact for Laboratory members and assisting with various administrative tasks as needed.

Required Skills and Qualifications:
•Organizational Skills: Strong ability to manage multiple tasks and prioritize effectively in a fast-paced environment.
•Communication Skills: Excellent verbal and written communication skills for interacting with clients, staff, and management.
•Language Skills: English and French.
•Technical Proficiency: Familiarity with office software, such as Microsoft Office Suite, for creating documents, spreadsheets, and presentations.
•Attention to Detail: Ability to maintain accuracy in tasks such as data entry and document preparation.
•Problem-Solving Skills: Capability to address and resolve office-related issues efficiently.

Work Environment:
The successful candidate will be expected to work at the Faculty of Law, McGill University, principally in the Labour Law and Development Research Laboratory.

Hours per week

25 hours per week over 6 weeks during July and August 2026, then 7 hours per week through Fall 2026 and Winter 2027

Principales responsabilités:
•Assistance administrative : apporter un soutien administratif, notamment en gérer l'agenda du professeur Blackett et en traitant la correspondance.
•Planification : organiser et coordonner les rendez-vous, les réunions et les événements.
•Gestion des documents : Tenir à jour et organiser les dossiers, les documents et les fournitures de bureau, y compris la saisie de données et la mise à jour des dossiers, et apporter un soutien à la mise en forme des documents.
•Fonctionnement du bureau : Assurer le bon fonctionnement du Laboratoire de recherche sur le droit du travail et le développement en gérer les opérations quotidiennes, en servant de point de contact administratif principal pour les membres du Laboratoire et en apportant une aide pour diverses tâches administratives selon les besoins.

Compétences et qualifications requises :
•Sens de l'organisation : grande capacité à gérer plusieurs tâches simultanément et à établir efficacement des priorités dans un environnement dynamique.
•Compétences en communication : excellentes aptitudes à la communication orale et écrite pour interagir avec les clients, le personnel et la direction.
•Compétences linguistiques : anglais et français.
• Compétences techniques : bonne maîtrise des logiciels bureautiques, tels que la suite Microsoft Office, pour la création de documents, de feuilles de calcul et de présentations.
• Souci du détail : capacité à faire preuve de précision dans des tâches telles que la saisie de données et la préparation de documents.
• Capacité à résoudre les problèmes : capacité à traiter et à résoudre efficacement les problèmes liés au travail de bureau.

Environnement de travail:
Le candidat retenu sera basé à la Faculté de droit de l'Université McGill, principalement au sein du Laboratoire de recherche sur le droit du travail et le développement.

Nombre d'heures hebdomadaires

25 heures par semaine pendant 6 semaines en juillet et août 2026, puis 7 heures par semaine pendant l'automne 2026 et l'hiver 2027.
