Job Description

Meet, greet and direct clients who enter the building. Assist them to the needed staff member for their purpose and business. Direct client to sign in on the daily sign in sheets. They will then be directed to the Social Service Office, Career Center Office, or the Officer-In-Charge. If staff member is not available then direct client to a business card to call at a later time.

Responsibilities

  • Attend required meetings for Senior Box training thru the Greater Pittsburgh Community food bank as requested. As well as once a month schedule the delivery of such boxed and coordinate dispersing boxes when boxes arrive.
  • Schedule and receive the Weiss Meats which come on a weekly basis.
  • Schedule and receive monthly Orkin Exterminator and entrance into various rooms in locked rooms.
  • Schedule and receive other services to our building such as ABBCO, UPS, FedEx, Cintas. Signing all required statements.
  • Schedule and direct Volunteer Staff such as Bridge of Pittsburgh and Community Volunteers.
  • Train designated persons on the phone system i.e., answering calls, forwarding messages, transferring calls and proper phone ethics.
  • Coordinate and implement seasonal projects: Bundle-Up, Thanksgiving Dinner Volunteers, Christmas Assistance, Camp Allegheny Enrollment, Adopt-A-Family, After-School Enrollment and process parent payments.
  • Produce Day assistance to the Social Worker.
  • Maintain Computer Lab in request to general upkeep and contacting the IT DHQ department for questions.
  • Design and print weekly Worship and Praise Programs for Sunday Morning Service.

Additional Responsibilities:

  • Design and print special programs for various events i.e., Black History Programs, Women’s Ministries, Certificates for Bible School, Flyers for Christmas Sign-up clients, flyers of all kinds.
  • Maintain and coordinate files for our records of Camp Allegheny Intake, Christmas Intake, Summer Day Camp and After School Intake.
  • Calculate, record, and turn over monies collected for the previous events.
  • Contact and mail out letters to Christmas Kettle Stands for permission to collect donations.
  • Contact and set up potential Volunteers as Intake Personnel.
  • Conduct and coordinate a training session with Volunteers as Intake Personnel.
  • In conjunction with Office Depot, prepare the Christmas applications for numbering and printing.

Qualifications

  • Leadership skills in listening and directing situations.
  • Knowledge of the Stanley Alarm System for the building.
  • Knowledge of Microsoft computer applications.
  • Work with very limited supervision.
  • Great time management skills.
  • Flexible and good organizational skills.
  • Skills to work and pray with clients for their particular needs.
  • Arrange and secure signed forms for rental of building for community activities.
  • Valid PA driver’s license.
  • All three PA Clearances required upon employment and thereafter upon renewal date: PA Child Abuse History Clearance, Request for Criminal Record, and Fingerprint based federal criminal history.
  • PA Mandated and Permissive Reporting and The Salvation Army's KeepSAfe training required.

Education and Experience:

  • High School Diploma or equivalent
  • At least 1 to 2 years of experience in customer service, office management or reception.
