About the Company

Southern Cross Metal Recyclers is a well-established player in the metal recycling industry. With a hardworking, close-knit team and a busy operational environment, they're looking for a reliable all-rounder to keep the office running smoothly.

About the Role

This is a standalone office administration role, the heartbeat of the business. You'll be the first point of contact for customers, manage day-to-day admin, and support the broader team with everything from data entry to invoicing. With a long-tenured team member transitioning out, there's a genuine handover period on offer to set you up for success.

What you'll be doing:

  • Answering incoming calls and assisting customers (approx. 20 calls/day)
  • Operating the weighbridge and processing weighbridge transactions
  • Raising sales invoices and entering purchasing data
  • Booking jobs on the transport/logistics system (Wasteway)
  • Maintaining customer records via Excel spreadsheets
  • General data entry in Xero
  • Managing documents via Dropbox and handling PDF processing
  • Filing and reporting during quieter periods

Requirements

About You:

  • Confident with Microsoft Excel, Xero, Dropbox, and general PDF tools
  • Experience with weighbridge systems highly regarded
  • Background in the recycling, waste, or heavy industry is a strong advantage
  • Friendly and professional phone manner
  • A self-starter who can manage a solo office environment with minimal supervision
  • Strong attention to detail and data accuracy
