Job Description

FlexStaff is seeking a Medical Office Administrator with experience in Healthcare Insurance Authorization and Medical Billing for our Client, a Prosthetics and Orthotics Lab for their office located in the Bronx, NY.

Bi-lingual English-Spanish highly preferred.

Schedule: Monday- Friday, 8:30am-5:30pm.

This is Temp-to-Hire role.

In this role you will be responsible for providing clerical support, answering phone calls and obtain accurate insurance information, verification, and pre-authorization The ideal candidate would have at least 3 (three) years of healthcare billing/collections experience.

  • Verify patient insurance eligibility and benefits.
  • Collect co-pays and assist with billing questions.
  • Greet and welcome patients upon arrival.
  • Check in patients and schedule/manage appointments for multiple providers.
  • Reschedule or cancel appointments as needed.
  • Collect patient information, insurance details, and medical history.
  • Answer phone calls promptly and professionally.
  • Relay messages and follow up on patient calls.
  • Maintain and update patient records in EHR or paper files.
  • Prepare and send appointment reminders and follow-up letters.
  • Manage incoming and outgoing medical records.
  • Maintain a clean and organized reception area.
  • Order office supplies as needed.
