Job Description

  • Operate and maintain wastewater screening (offal) and pretreatment equipment (dissolved air floatation, DAF).
  • Operate and maintain full treatment system including but not limited to 10 million gallon anaerobic lagoon with gas collection system, 4.5 million gallon sequencing batch reactor (SBR), and two 4 million gallon holding ponds, 35 acre land application system and two discharge outlets.
  • Operate and interpret results for pH, dissolved oxygen, turbidity and spectrographic analytical equipment, sampling instruments, and flow instruments to the degree required by a national Pollutant Discharge Elimination System (NPDES) permit. 
  • Maintain and perform basic maintenance on pumps, motors, aerators, air compressors, pneumatic auxiliaries, hydraulically driven equipment, belt and chain drive systems, digital and analog controllers and sensors, irrigation, plumbing, and electrical components.
Qualifications
  • Basic organization skills, maintaining operation logs.
  • Basic maintenance, electrical wiring skills.
  • Basic grounds maintenace.
  • Operate forklift, tractor, crane and other heavy equipment.
  • Compute algebraic level mathematical skills.
  • Must be able to make accurate observations of treatment system based on visual, mechanical,and analytical data,and respond to this information using critical thinking skills.

Physical Requirements

  • Climb ladders or steep inclines, and traverse rough terrain.
  • Lift 70 lbs.
  • Work in hazardous and unhygienic environments.
  • Work in all outdoor conditions.
  • Work in slippery environments using pesticides and chlorine based disinfectants.
  • Enter confined spaces appropriately.
