Job Description

NOVO Health keenly focuses on safety and infection control and provides its partner hospitals with a value-driven linen management control system that measures and monitors linen utilization by department to eliminate excess internal costs. NOVO's wide range of service programs offer a variety of options to provide a seamless, single source distribution system. NOVO's regional healthcare linen facilities are HLAC accredited and operate with state-of-the-art processing equipment and processes.

Essential Functions

  • Ensure the proper transport of clean linen in covered carts to designated areas.
  • Collect soiled linen from assigned locations and transport it safely in covered carts to designated processing areas.
  • Verify quantities of linen delivered and received.
  • Perform linen inventory as required.
  • Address and resolve client concerns in a timely manner.
  • Communicate effectively with supervisors regarding client issues and linen quality concerns.
  • Build and maintain strong customer relationships by providing excellent service and coordinating with internal teams to resolve issues.
  • Uphold all quality standards and service expectations.
  • Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment.
  • Follow all established procedures and facility requirements.
  • Operate equipment and perform related duties to support department operations, as needed.
  • Understand and adhere to all safety policies and procedures.
  • Perform basic clerical tasks (e.g., data entry, answering phones, documentation).
  • Comply with Joint Commission standards at all times.
  • Perform additional duties as assigned.

Job Requirements

  • High school diploma or GED required.
  • 1–2 years of experience in healthcare, manufacturing, or a similar environment preferred.
  • Strong customer service and relationship management skills.
  • Effective interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Positive, “can-do” attitude with the ability to lead and support team success.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
  • Ability to stand for extended periods and frequently walk, bend, stoop, twist, and reach.
  • Ability to operate laundry equipment, carts, and storage/dispensing systems.
  • Ability to sort, stack, and organize linen into carts.
  • Ability to lift up to 35 pounds.
  • Ability to push or pull carts weighing up to 250 pounds.
  • Willingness to work evenings, nights, weekends, and holidays as needed.
  • Comfortable giving and receiving constructive feedback.
  • Basic computer skills and willingness to learn new systems.

Physical Requirements

  • Ability to stand, walk, bend, twist, reach overhead, grasp, push, and pull for the duration of the shift.
  • Ability to lift up to 50 pounds or more, as required.
  • Ability to move rolling carts of varying sizes, up to approximately 250 pounds.
  • Ability to meet all physical demands consistently throughout the entire shift.

Education

  • High school diploma or GED required.
  • 1–2 years of relevant industry experience preferred.
