Brief Role Description

The Manager, Off-Lease Pricing role is critical in directing and executing the company’s off-lease pricing strategy. Responsible for conceptualizing, developing, soliciting buy in and ensuring implementation of pricing strategy with the intent of maximizing off lease disposal proceeds. The role manages the margins by model line and coordinate strategic pricing & positioning plans for current & future products/projects. With Executive Leadership Team approval, these functions drive budget, volume & profit planning now & long-term

Possible Tasks within this Role

Provide controlling oversight of off-lease pricing process; including the annual disposal of $4 billion in assets (200,000 vehicles) annually growing to $20 billion over the planning round.
Manage all aspects of the off-lease pricing strategy including Auction, Online, and Customer channels.

Time Allocation: 35%
Develop and execute online pricing inputs weekly for the US market.
Enhance, challenge, automate, test assumptions and further develop existing models for pricing the US portfolio using advanced data analysis, and modeling techniques including elasticity, sensitivity, and scenario analysis to identify pricing strategies that optimize results

Time Allocation: 30%
Collaborate daily with VW and Audi brand colleagues as well as VCI Remarketing and VCI Data and Analytics colleagues to develop a comprehensive off-lease disposal strategy focused on maximizing proceeds across the channels. Assist on the development and efficacy of VW Affinity and Audi Ace programs used to stimulate online used vehicle demand, retail certified pre-owned sales, and VW Credit used vehicle contract penetration.
Conceptualize, develop, financially evaluate, secure approval & implement the strategic direction for pricing model
Provide financial evaluation of all product related recommendations such as special editions, model year changes, content changes, mix changes, volume changes, price changes, etc.
Determine the financial impact of decisions & resource utilization. Advise the best use of financial resources given the Company & market conditions
Develop, maintain continuity & operationalize the pricing & margin process throughout the organization. Working closely with brand teams, develop, implement & coordinate VCI pricing strategy across all teams

Time Allocation 10%
Manage analysis of competitive price actions & strategies in order to determine future pricing strategy, & act as a monitoring tool for brands regarding price strategy agreements
Benchmark competitor activities and continuously challenge process to ensure highest level of quality and competitiveness in pricing process and tools utilized.

Time Allocation: 25%
Develop & coordinate proper analysis & variance reporting for Senior Management
Develop & provide monthly forecasts which are essential tools of the overall Planning & decision-making process

Qualification requirements

Education:

Bachelor’s degree Master’s degree

Years of Relevant Experience:

10 years of progressive finance and accounting experience
Automotive finance experience

Skills:

Proven history of excellent leadership, assertiveness, influencing, and negotiation skills
Solid organizational skills with ability to effectively manage multiple priorities
Succinctly and effectively communicate complex data and concepts
Proactive and open communication
Analytical and conceptual thinking – curiosity-driven, using logic and reason
Relentless focus on optimizing models, processes and outcomes
Experience running and managing multi-regression, AI models
Detailed orientation with strong quantitative aptitude
Ownership of delivering results
Significant business and/or financial acumen
Strong planning and project management skills
Comfortable working in a fast-paced corporate environment
Problem solving, logic skills, and ability to work independently
Ability to work cooperatively and collaboratively with all levels of employees and management

Salary range is dependent on factors such as industry-based experience, skills, training, credentials, and other qualifications.
The salary range for this role is $100,000 - $138,000. Actual pay may vary based on experience, education, and internal compensation practices.
