True Inspection Services, a subsidiary of The Mannik & Smith Group, is seeking experienced ODOT Prequalified Construction Project Engineers for the 2027 construction season in the Cincinnati area.

Key Responsibilities

• Based on the site, the Engineer will oversee roadway and construction projects, including inspections, quality control, and administration.
• Coordinate with ODOT staff, municipal agencies, other subconsultants, and utility companies to ensure seamless project delivery.
• Manage project schedules, budgets, and resources.
• Prepare technical reports, memos, and presentations for stakeholders, clearly communicating proposed work, issues, and findings.
• Conduct or review material testing and quality assurance.
• Collaborate cross-functionally with engineering, construction, and administrative teams to solve technical and logistical challenges.

Skills, Knowledge and Expertise

Required Qualifications

• 2 years of relevant transportation engineering experience, including roadway, bridge, or construction engineering.
• Documented experience managing or leading construction activities on ODOT or similar DOT projects, including coordination with owners and clients.
• Bachelor of Science degree in Engineering from a school with an ABET-accredited program.

Possess ODOT CE1 or CE2 prequalification, or have the qualifications and commitment necessary to obtain this certification.

Preferred Qualifications

• Previous experience supporting ODOT construction projects.
• Strong understanding of ODOT specifications and quality assurance procedures.
• Effective communication and documentation skills.
• Ability to work outdoors and travel to project sites as needed.
