Hours per week: 37 hours

Fixed term: 12 months

Interview date: Wednesday 3 June 2026

Join our HR & OD Team as an OD Consultant and be at the forefront of helping the council develop a flexible, highly skilled and capable workforce.

This is a 12-month role focused on supporting major change activity across our core transformation areas, helping services simplify how they work, improve outcomes for residents, and build a high-performing, joined-up organisation.

Our OD and Change Team are responsible for transforming our Identity into a dynamic lived experience where continuous learning, employee experience, and effective change come together to drive development, innovation, and success. Our goal is to ensure we have the right people, with the right skills and attitudes, in the right jobs, at the right time.

You will work directly with services, and programme leads to deliver change across our key focus areas, including how we run the council, improve resident experience, strengthen value for money, and make better use of data and technology. This is a hands-on role, supporting real-time change. You’ll help design and deliver change plans, engage teams, and ensure new ways of working are adopted and sustained.

We are looking for a candidate who holds a degree in a relevant field or has equivalent professional experience. You should have expert knowledge and proven experience in organisational development, particularly in the areas of equality, diversity and inclusion. A proven track record of successfully implementing cultural and change management initiatives within large, diverse organizations is essential. Experience of co-ordinating multi-agency and partnership working in the delivery of joint outcomes is also required, along with a commitment to continuous improvement and the application of systems thinking principles.

This is a hands-on role, supporting real-time change. You’ll help design and deliver change plans, engage teams, and ensure new ways of working are adopted and sustained.
