About Octo Health

Octo is personal health infrastructure. A longitudinal health memory that centralises fragmented medical data and puts ownership back where it belongs - with the individual.

One secure place for exams, results, symptoms and medical records. So every doctor visit actually means something. This is not a health tracking app. It's the foundation for a new relationship between people and their health data.

The role

You shape every interaction people have with Octo. Onboarding, health timelines, reports, insights, and everything in between. You work directly with the Founder, Product, and Engineering.

They're building a consumer product, not enterprise software. Every interaction matters. Usability, trust, speed, accessibility, and the countless small details that make products feel effortless.

They work with AI-augmented: Claude, Figma Make, v0, and whatever ships next month. Tools to explore ideas, prototype faster, and raise quality. You guide, validate, refine.

This is not a production-design role. It's for someone who:

• Thinks natively in both mobile and web - no adapting one platform to the other
• Prototypes in hours, validates with users, iterates the same week
• Sweats the details others ship past
• Uses AI throughout the design process, and is constantly experimenting with better ways to build

What you'll do

• Lead the design of end-to-end product experiences across mobile and web
• Create intuitive, user-centred experiences that simplify complex healthcare journeys
• Prototype ideas rapidly, validate them with users, and iterate on feedback
• Build, maintain and evolve our design system across all platforms
• Run user research, usability testing and customer interviews
• Use product data and user feedback to continuously improve the experience
• Champion consistency, simplicity and attention to detail across the entire product
• Stay ahead of consumer product trends, UX patterns, and design tools
• Keep exploring how AI changes the way products are designed and built

What makes you a great fit

• 6+ years designing digital consumer products
• A portfolio that shows exceptional product thinking, not just polished screens
• Significant experience shipping both native mobile and web applications
• Strong grasp of native interaction patterns across iOS, Android and responsive web
• Deep understanding of UX, interaction design and human behaviour
• High proficiency in Figma, prototyping and modern design workflows
• Experience working shoulder-to-shoulder with engineers through the full product lifecycle
• AI is already part of your daily workflow - and you're always testing what's next
• Fluent in English, clear communicator
• Comfortable in a fast-moving startup where priorities evolve and everyone contributes beyond their role
• Bonus: healthcare or complex consumer products · scalable design systems · animation and micro-interactions · strong opinions on why some products feel extraordinary and others don't
