Compensation

$150000 - $225000 / year

The OCS Engineer is responsible in managing the Overhead Contact System (OCS) scope from design through construction, testing and commissioning of the project.

Primary/Essential Responsibilities and Duties

  • Manage OCS scope, design, procurement, installation, and testing to meet project and customer requirements.

  • Oversee OCS subcontractors, billings, change proposals, and project closeout documentation.

  • Support Construction Managers with installation plans, drawings, and QA/QC compliance.

  • Ensure timely procurement and delivery of OCS and Traction Power equipment.

  • Manage testing, commissioning, and integrated systems testing.

  • Maintain strong relationships with owners, contractors, and subcontractors.

  • Promote team discipline, morale, and collaboration.

Required Skills and Qualifications

  • 5–10 years’ experience in rail projects, Signal/Train Control required.
  • Electrical PE preferred; knowledge of current electrical codes and standards.
  • Thorough understanding of Signal/Train Control systems used in transit.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office; CADD experience preferred.
  • Strong communication, organizational, and interpersonal skills.
  • Self-motivated, detail-oriented, and able to meet deadlines.
  • Analytical, creative problem-solving abilities; transparent communicator.

Physical Requirements and Working Conditions

  • Willing to travel
  • Overtime may be required to meet project deadlines
  • Works in an office environment
  • Frequently sits for long periods of time
  • Frequently speaks, reads, writes, and uses a computer keyboard
  • May require occasional standing, walking, lifting, stooping, or bending
