The Ocean Logistics Operations Specialist ensures the seamless execution of ocean transport activities by supervising shipment operations, optimizing the use of shipment management systems, and fostering strong collaboration with Markets, suppliers, shippers, carriers, and Global Logistics Procurement to deliver timely, reliable stock movements aligned with Nestlé service expectations.

A day in the life of...

  • Lead and improve the transport monitoring (Track & Trace) process for ocean shipments.
  • Ensure timely resolution of exceptions and maintain reliable data in the Ocean Platform and Dashboard.
  • Coordinate loading dates with the export team and track containers from loading point through POL.
  • Monitor shipments during ocean transit, identify deviations, update ETAs, and notify Markets when required.
  • Receive arrival notices, follow up on empty container return, and manage COD (change of destination) requests.
  • Monitor platform performance against SLAs, ensuring continuity and supporting operational activities.
  • Conduct health checks and contribute to continuous improvement and project initiatives.


What will make you successful

  • Technical university degree.

  • Approximately 5 years of experience in freight forwarding or shipping lines (import/export operations).

  • Strong customer service skills.

  • Knowledge of physical logistics.

  • Project management experience within Supply Chain.

  • Experience working with or managing providers.

  • Advanced English (Spanish is a plus)

  • Proficiency in Microsoft 365 (Excel, Power BI, PowerPoint, etc.).
