Ocean Freight Head Egypt

Positioned within CEVA Egypt LLC under the Logistics - Air and Ocean strategic business unit, the Ocean Freight Head Egypt plays a pivotal role in our Product Development Ocean department. Based at the Head Office in Cairo, this managerial role is integral to our ocean freight operations, enabling the optimization and seamless management of our ocean logistics activities.

YOUR ROLE

  • As the Ocean Freight Head, you will lead and oversee the entire ocean freight function within Egypt, ensuring efficient and compliant movement of goods across international waters. Your role involves liaising with global partners and internal stakeholders to implement strategic solutions that drive operational excellence and customer satisfaction. You will be responsible for managing contracts, negotiating freight rates, optimizing shipment schedules, and ensuring adherence to compliance and regulatory requirements in the ocean freight domain.

WHAT ARE YOU GOING TO DO?

  • Oversee, lead, direct and manage the fiscal and overall operations at a country level to ensure that growth and profitability goals and objectives are met
  • Plan and implement appropriate resources within the country (staffing, training, equipment, and systems) to ensure contractual compliance and delivery of quality services that meet and exceed the customer’s expectations.
  • Leading the management of expectations for executives and leaders, facilitates communication on business requirements and establishes critical performance metrics
  • Provide the Ocean country operation’s team with daily guidance, leadership and overall support on any issues relating to operations, communication, revenue enhancement, human resources, procedures standardization, systems applications, and process execution.
  • Work directly with the regional and country Ocean management team to establish country and local goals within the parameters of the region operation’s business plan.
  • Work collaboratively with BPE, customer service, regional operations, Digital and IT corporate administration to ensure efficient operations
  • Develop continuous improvement methodology in key areas of service profit and growth
  • Develop customer relationships and ensure that customer service and operational levels within the regionally and country operations are maintained
  • Ensure compliance with company policies and procedures, ISO standards and all applicable regulatory laws and guidelines
  • Oversee and manage the professional development and productivity of direct and indirect reports within the country to ensure proper goals, training, professional development and project requirements are met
  • Keep abreast of emerging technology changes and innovations through formal or informal study, reading business and professional publications, networking, and participation in professional organizations

WHAT ARE WE LOOKING FOR?

  • Bachelor's degree in Logistics, Supply Chain Management, or a related field.
  • Post graduate business qualification, including an MBA is desirable
  • A minimum of 10+ years of experience of general management; a minimum of 6+ years of experience in a top management position with full P&L responsibility for Ocean freight experience is highly desirable.
  • Experience of working across multiple geographies.
  • Proactive, take-charge leader driven to achieve; believes every business is a growth business. Results-oriented. Professionally demanding with a track record of meeting and exceeding performance.
  • A strong and entrepreneurial spirit in Ocean freight.
  • In-depth knowledge of the international logistics industry.
  • Deep expertise in developing integrated supply chain & logistics solutions relevant in.
  • Process driven and always seeking for continuous improvement
  • Mature judgement and decision-making
  • Sophisticated interpersonal and communication skills, demonstrating the ability to influence and develop relationships at the highest level in customer organizations.
  • Ability to develop highly collaborative and productive relationships internally.
  • Fluent in Arabic and English.
