Organization:

ABSMC-Summit CampusJoin a patient-centered rehabilitation team committed to helping individuals achieve greater independence, function, and quality of life. As an Occupational Therapy Assistant (OTA), you will work under the supervision of a licensed Occupational Therapist to deliver individualized therapeutic interventions that help patients improve their ability to perform meaningful daily activities.

In this role, you will provide occupational therapy treatments according to established plans of care, support patients in achieving functional goals, and contribute to positive patient outcomes through compassionate, evidence-based care. You will collaborate closely with occupational therapists, physicians, nurses, and other healthcare professionals to ensure a coordinated approach to treatment.

The Occupational Therapy Assistant may assist with treatment planning, perform therapeutic activities and interventions, document patient progress, and modify treatments within the scope of the established plan of care and state practice guidelines. Success in this role requires strong clinical skills, excellent communication, and a passion for helping patients regain and maintain independence.

What You'll Do:

Implement individualized occupational therapy treatment plans under the direction of a licensed Occupational Therapist.
Provide therapeutic interventions that support patients in improving functional abilities, self-care skills, mobility, and participation in daily activities.
Monitor patient progress and communicate treatment outcomes with the interdisciplinary care team.
Educate patients and caregivers on therapeutic strategies, adaptive equipment, and techniques to promote independence and safety.
Maintain accurate and timely clinical documentation in accordance with regulatory and organizational standards.
Ensure compliance with all local, state, federal, and organizational policies, procedures, and safety requirements.
Serve as a clinical instructor and mentor for occupational therapy students as assigned.

OTA-Occupational Therapist Assistant

BLS-Basic Life Support Healthcare Provider

DEPARTMENT REQUIRED CERTIFICATIONS & LICENSURES

Department, SCAH: AUTO-Automobile Insurance

Department, SCAH: DL-Valid Drivers License - State Department of Motor Vehicles

TYPICAL EXPERIENCE:

1 year of recent relevant experience.

SKILLS AND KNOWLEDGE:

Critical thinking and problem solving, decisive judgement and ability to work within scope of practice.

Knowledge and application of professional practice and regulatory requirements.

Must be able to work in demanding work environment, organize multiple priorities completing work duties within expected timelines and requirements.

Computer and required technology proficiency/competencies.

Demonstrates effective and efficient professional communication (verbal & written) skills as well as interpersonal skills, conflict resolution, teamwork/collaboration, customer service and community relations abilities.

Able to retain and apply new knowledge & skills.

Keeps abreast of professional practice development and advancement.

Pay Range is $45.18 to $63.25 / hour

The compensation range may vary based on the geographic location where the position is filled. Total compensation considers multiple factors, including, but not limited to a candidate’s experience, education, skills, licensure, certifications, departmental equity, training, and organizational needs.
