Certified Occupational Therapy Assistant (COTA) – Santa Cruz Post Acute

Full-Time • Part-Time • PRN
Starting at $44-50-50 per hour DOE + Benefits

Santa Cruz Post Acute is seeking a dedicated Certified Occupational Therapy Assistant (COTA) to join our dynamic therapy team. We are committed to providing high‑quality, resident‑centered care in a supportive and collaborative skilled nursing environment. Full‑time, part‑time, and PRN schedules are available.

The Certified Occupational Therapy Assistant works under the direction and supervision of a licensed Occupational Therapist to provide therapeutic services that help residents improve functional abilities, independence, and quality of life.

Responsibilities

  • Provide treatment interventions as outlined in the resident’s individualized OT plan of care.

  • Assist in implementing therapeutic programs to improve ADLs, mobility, strength, coordination, and cognitive function.

  • Document daily treatment notes, progress updates, and resident responses according to facility and regulatory standards.

  • Collaborate with the occupational therapist, therapy staff, nursing team, and other interdisciplinary members to support resident goals.

  • Educate residents, families, and caregivers on therapeutic exercises, safety techniques, and functional strategies.

  • Maintain compliance with state and federal regulations and professional standards.

Qualifications

  • Current Certified Occupational Therapy Assistant (COTA) license in the state of California.

  • Graduate of an accredited COTA program.

  • Strong communication, teamwork, and documentation skills.

  • Prior SNF experience preferred but new grads are welcome to apply!
