Job Description

Liquid Personnel is seeking a dedicated Locum Occupational Therapist to join its client's Urgent Response OT Team in Barnet. This is a fast‑paced, hands‑on role completing urgent community OT assessments across the Barnet borough, supporting residents with immediate needs relating to safety, moving & handling, equipment, and functional independence.

The team is small, well‑supported, and led by an experienced Team Manager and Lead Practitioner who provide strong day‑to‑day guidance.

What will your responsibilities be?

  • Complete urgent OT assessments across the Barnet borough.
  • Manage a busy caseload requiring quick turnaround and effective prioritisation.
  • Carry out extensive manual handling assessments, including hoists, slings, transfer plans, and safe systems of work.
  • Complete community visits to assess risk, function, and equipment needs.
  • Participate in 1 day of OT Duty as part of the weekly rota.
  • Recommend and arrange appropriate equipment and minor adaptations.
  • Work collaboratively with social workers, health colleagues, carers, and partner agencies.
  • Provide fast, defensible clinical decisions in a pressured urgent‑response environment.
  • Maintain accurate records and documentation in line with service standards.

Qualifications & Experience:

  • Degree / Diploma in Occupational Therapy.
  • Significant experience in:
    • Urgent response / rapid OT services
    • Manual handling (essential)
    • Community-based assessments
  • Must be able to work full-time, Monday–Friday within the stated hours.
  • Must be a car driver and live locally enough to respond to urgent cases.
  • Strong ability to work independently within a supportive but fast-moving team
