Key Qualifications:

• Registration and in good standing with the College of Occupational Therapists/Physiotherapist of Ontario required

• Minimum 5 years relevant experience in assessing and treating the acute hand/wrist injuries required

• Excellent written and verbal communication skills required

• Experience providing services with a strong quality improvement focus required

• Patient centred approach to delivery of excellent patient care services

• Evidence of continuing education, professional and personal development required

• Reliable, flexible, creative, self-directed professional able to work effectively and collaboratively with an interdisciplinary team required

• Exercises initiative and good judgment with ability to multi-task required

• Strong ability to successfully coach, develop and mentor allied health professionals and physicians to improve program quality required

• Demonstrates excellent interpersonal, time management and organizational skills required

The role requires assessment and treatment of acute hand injuries within a rehab and surgical clinic environment.

• Interdisciplinary assessment and treatment of patients within surgical clinic and rehab

• Supervision of PTA/OTA

• Work as part of an interdisciplinary team model providing evidence based, outcome-oriented care and recommendations

• Provides therapy services in keeping with the respective College guidelines and standards of practice

• Participates in continuous quality improvement and evaluation including various projects

• Contributes to the overall vision/mandate of the Program

• Supervision of students as required
