Occupational Therapist (OT)
This position is accountable to provide occupational therapy services to patients, including assessment, treatment, program planning and implementation, related documentation, communication with other disciplines and services, and staff supervision as agreed. Staff may care for all age groups from infants to elderly and is aware of the developmental needs over the age span and the appropriate equipment for all ages. This position must demonstrate a commitment of quality service to our patients, the public and our co-workers. Therapists will be accountable for their actions and strive to exceed customer expectations.

Essential Functions & Responsibilities:
Administers therapy care programs or portions thereof, as planned and directed by a Licensed Occupational Therapist.
Record and document patient treatment and progress to accurately reflect the services provided and patient performance.
Educate patients, patient's families and staff to increase knowledge, professional development and ensure quality care.
Keeps current knowledge on new programs and treatments and/or participate in special projects in the occupational therapy field.
Perform other duties as assigned.

Occupational Therapy Assistant (OTA)
Qualifications:
Graduate of an accredited Occupational Therapy Associate Degree Program.
Eligible member of AOTA. Virginia State license required.
Current certification by the National Board of Certification for Occupational Therapy required.
AHA BLS Provider CPR required at hire
Professional competency as a general practitioner as defined by the AOTA.

Physical Requirements: Constant (67-100% of workday) walking, standing, use of arms and hands; frequent (34-66% of workday) bending, stooping, kneeling, and squatting; ability to lift 35 lbs.; ability to push and pull 20 lbs.; auditory and visual skills to include color determination; ability to work in confined spaces; ability to reach above/overhead.
Mental Requirements: Possesses critical thinking and analytical skills. Ability to multi-task. Ability to communicate effectively and collaborate with a multi-disciplinary team. Capacity to cope with difficult situations. Ability to tolerate irregular hours including evenings, nights, and weekends.
Environmental Requirements and Exposure Hazards: Potential risk of exposure to radiation and toxic chemicals. Potential for exposure to bloodborne pathogens; must be able to wear appropriate personal protective equipment.
*Clinical positions in Mary Washington Home Health and/or Hospice must also meet driving requirements.
