Description

The North Liberty Hospital department of Rehab Therapy is seeking an Occupational Therapist to specialize in hand therapy. This candidate will administer treatment to patients with complex physical dysfunctions, disorders and/or injuries and evaluate and interpret findings. This position will primarily be assigned to an orthopedic outpatient setting.Provide quality patient care, evaluation, assessment and treatment appropriate for patient’s needs. Assignment will involve hand and upper limb rehabilitation including fabrication of customized splints in an outpatient setting.Evaluate and instruct patients in home treatment programsPerform routine and assigned administrative tasks in an efficient mannerParticipate in divisional quality/process improvement activities and recommend opportunities for improvement in service qualityAttend and participate in educational programs and provide educational experiences as assignedMaintain effective working relationships with faculty, staff, students and the publicPerforms special projects and tasks as assignedPercent of Time: 100%Schedule: This role requires flexibility to work a variety of shifts within clinic hours (7:00 a.m. – 8:00 p.m., Monday–Friday), which may vary based on staffing needs.Pay Grade: 06 https://hr.uiowa.edu/pay/pay-plans/seiu-pay-planBenefits Highlights:Regular salaried position located in North Liberty, IAFringe benefit package including paid vacation; sick leave; health, dental, life and disability insurance options; and generous employer contributions into retirement plansFor more information about Why Iowa?, click here

Qualifications

Required Qualifications:A minimum of a Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent in Occupational Therapy is requiredEntry level experience in occupational therapy in an outpatient setting.Excellent written and verbal communication skills are requiredLicenses/ Certifications:Licensure in accordance with the Iowa Board of Physical and Occupational Therapy is requiredDesirable Qualifications:1-3 years experience in Occupational Therapy1-3 years experience in the rehabilitation of the upper limb with emphasis on the wrist and hand including fabrication of customized splints1-3 years experience in evaluation and treatment of patients with musculoskeletal disordersAbility to function as part of a multidisciplinary teamDemonstrated leadership in a work or academic settingApplication Process: In order to be considered, applicants must upload a resume and cover letter (check the box for required submission) that clearly address how they meet the listed required and desired qualifications of this position.
