• $88k - $101k (pro rata) + Super + benefits
• Location: Melbourne Assessment Prison - Acute Assessment Unit

About the role
We are seeking a motivated and experienced Grade 2 Occupational Therapist to join our team at the Melbourne Assessment Prison’s Acute Assessment Unit. You will work autonomously and as part of a multidisciplinary team to deliver occupationally focused assessment, treatment, and recovery oriented interventions to male consumers experiencing mental illness.
What You will do:
• Conduct comprehensive OT assessments and deliver evidence based interventions.
• Develop, implement and evaluate group programs in partnership with the Unit Manager and clinical team.
• Support patient participation in meaningful daily activities that promote functional skills, wellbeing, and safer reintegration.
• Contribute to the development and delivery of a therapeutic environment within a secure setting.
• Provide high quality clinical documentation and discipline specific reporting.
• Support student education and provide supervision to junior OT staff where required.
• Participate in quality improvement initiatives and discipline wide projects.
What you will need:
• Approved degree in Occupational Therapy recognised for Membership of Occupational Therapy Australia – Australian Association of Occupational Therapists
• Registration with the Australian Health Practitioner Regulations Agency (AHPRA).
