Job Description

Liquid Personnel is seeking a dedicated Occupational Therapist on behalf of its client based in Cheshire East, to support adults with illnesses and disabilities through expert assessments, equipment provision, and housing adaptations. This is a varied and rewarding role with a strong focus on collaborative working and delivering positive outcomes for service users.

What will your responsibilities be?

  • Assess the needs of ill and disabled service users for equipment and adaptations, considering diagnosis and prognosis.
  • Provide appropriate advice and information to service users and carers.
  • Carry out assessments for individuals returning from hospital or care settings, arranging equipment to support safe discharge.
  • Liaise with architects and service users to review and approve adaptation plans.
  • Work with external agencies (Housing, NHS, charities, voluntary organisations) to secure funding and coordinate support.
  • Negotiate with service users and agencies to ensure adaptations are appropriate and cost-effective.
  • Ensure completed adaptations meet assessed needs and provide additional equipment where necessary.
  • Stay updated on developments in OT equipment and arrange home visits with suppliers when needed.
  • Maintain specialist knowledge in moving and handling techniques and supervise care staff accordingly.
  • Assess for rehabilitation potential and refer to appropriate services.
  • Maintain CPD and professional portfolio to meet HCPC registration requirements.

Qualifications & Experience:

  • HCPC registered Occupational Therapist
  • Experience in equipment provision and major adaptations
  • Strong understanding of OT legislation and best practice
  • Excellent communication and multi-agency working skills
