Vertis Therapy is growing and is seeking a passionate Occupational Therapy Assistant (OTA) to join our team in a Part-Time role at our Long-Term Acute Care Hospital (LTACH) in Greenfield, Indiana.

The Occupational Therapy Assistant provides skilled occupational therapy treatments under the clinical supervision of a licensed Occupational Therapist. As a valued member of the interdisciplinary care team, the OTA collaborates with patients, families, and healthcare professionals to help patients achieve their highest level of function and independence.

Primary Responsibilities

  • Provide occupational therapy treatments according to treatment plans developed by the Occupational Therapist.
  • Assist the Occupational Therapist with evaluations, assessments, and complex treatment procedures as appropriate.
  • Observe, document, and report patient conditions, responses, and progress to the Occupational Therapist.
  • Maintain accurate daily treatment records and complete required documentation in a timely manner.
  • Collaborate with patients, families, physicians, nursing staff, and other healthcare professionals to support quality patient care.
  • Assist in maintaining therapy equipment and the overall Occupational Therapy department.
  • Participate in in-service education programs, staff meetings, and interdisciplinary team meetings.
  • Pursue continuing education opportunities to maintain clinical competency and stay current with industry best practices.
  • Comply with all Vertis Therapy policies and procedures, as well as applicable state, federal, and professional standards.
  • Perform additional duties as assigned.

Requirements

  • Associate of Science degree in Occupational Therapy Assistant.
  • Current license or eligible for license under statutes in the state of practice.
  • Prefer minimum one (1) year rehabilitation experience in setting serving the same age/type of patient population served by this facility.
  • Prefer active membership in the state and national American Occupational Therapy Association.
  • Excellent oral and written communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Adequate computer skills in order to complete required job duties and computerized documentation.
  • Ability to understand and follow the directions of the Occupational Therapist and the policies and procedures of Vertis Therapy.
